Post Production Supervisor

The Post Production Supervisor (PPS) oversees various post projects (stock footage, commercial, narratives, documentaries, non-profit content) with an emphasis on Getty Images. The PPS maintains clear communication between all parties involved with the final product (i.e., producer, assistant editors, editors, client, etc.) and ensures all assets are uploaded to Getty Images or delivered to the client in a systematic and timely manner. The PPS determines the priority of post projects in the post department, keeping employees and contractors in motion, and is the direct line of communication between the Post Department and the Account Manager and company owners. Not only does this person understand post processes and have a desire to deliver high quality content, they are highly organized, a natural leader, effective communicator, and understand project management.  This position reports directly to the company owners.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee post departmental interns and their post related work
  • Hire, train, supervise, and approve payments for post contractors
  • Oversee weekly activities of Lighthouse’s post team members based on client needs and Getty priorities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Getty Content Coordination

  • Take ownership is assisting Lighthouse reach its annual Getty clip count
  • Determine and maintain effective workflows for stock footage intake, organization, selects, coloring, metadata, and submission
  • Evaluate clips and assess overall quality, commercial suitability, and ensure they meet acceptable standards
  • Oversee and coordinate the ingestion, organizing, pulling selects, metadata, board creation and submission of stock footage imagery
  • Collaborate with Production to ensure Getty standards are met and inform Production when clips are rejected
  • Research and keep up with stock footage trends (briefs, new keywords, etc.)
  • Maintain Lighthouse’s Getty Clip Log
  • Collaborate with Production to ensure Getty promises are fulfilled in timely manner
  • Develop positive relationship with Getty Image representatives and any other relevant stock footage agency
  • Hire, train, supervise and quality control contractors assisting with stock footage submission processes
  • Participate in the Getty process of selects, metadata, boards, submission, etc.

Post Supervision Duties

  • Coordinate post personnel and communicate priorities, project goals, and deadlines
  • Ensure post personnel follow post workflows, meeting deadlines and project goals
  • Evaluate current post practices for efficiency and effectiveness, implement changes when necessary
  • Work with Account Manager to create post quotes for Lighthouse clients
  • Oversee client billable and non-billable hours of post personnel
  • Oversee post milestone calendars and post project management systems
  • Participate in project pre-production meetings to help anticipate post needs
  • Form positive relationships with clients and vendors, keeping communication open throughout the post process while maintaining project notes and tracking client corrections
  • Lead weekly post-production meetings. Report post-production highlights and needs during Lighthouse bi-weekly meetings
  • Oversee the wrap and archiving of projects, post documents, licenses, etc.
  • Determine when additional post contractors, equipment, and/or professional development is needed in order to meet deadlines, improve workflows, and increase quality of Lighthouse post work
  • Ensure all post-work is up to Lighthouse’s standards
  • Secure licenses for rights managed media (i.e., music rights licenses, copy righted images, etc.)
  • Other related duties incidental to the work described herein


  • Impeccable attention to detail and exceptional organization skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership experience with proven initiative and follow through
  • Project Management experience
  • Familiarity with post-production software and workflows

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-production experience
  • Commercial/Film industry experience is required
  • Strong understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and post-production processes
  • Experience preferred in Davinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud & Microsoft Suite
